Leone Rosso Orcia Doc 2018 biologico

Starting from: 10,50

The rampant lion is the symbol of Donatella Cinelli Colombini’s ancestors who built Fattoria del Colle in 1592. The coats of arms of this family, called Socini or Soccini, are at the entrance, on the ceilings and on some furniture in the villa.

Donatella received the estate from her father Fausto Cinelli in 1998 and has dedicated to the Socini family the first wine that she produced here, the “Leone Rosso” DOC Orcia.

The first DOC Orcia BIO wine by Donatella Cinelli Colombini is the Leone Rosso 2018.

Leone Rosso is a family wine, produced in the 17 hectares of vineyard at Fattoria del Colle, vinified and aged in the estate winery. Its appellation, Doc Orcia, extends over the high hills between the territories of the Chianti, Brunello di Montalcino and Vino Nobile di Montepulciano wines. An area consequently suited for red wines made with Sangiovese. This is a blend of Sangiovese with Merlot this too produced in Donatella’s vineyards in Trequanda.

The total production of this vine for the 2018 vintage is of 20.000 bottles.

The 2018 vintage was characterized by a cool and showery spring and summer followed by a very sunny September with colder nights. The length of the vegetative cycle of the vines and the climate during the ripening period determined a particular richness in aroma and the very traditional character of this wine.
