The rampant lion is the symbol of Donatella Cinelli Colombini’s ancestors who built Fattoria del Colle in 1592. The coats of arms of this family, called Socini or Soccini, are at the entrance, on the ceilings and on some furniture in the villa.

Donatella received the estate from her father Fausto Cinelli in 1998 and has dedicated to the Socini family the first wine that she produced here, the “Leone Rosso” DOC Orcia.

Leone Rosso is a family wine, produced in the 17 hectares of vineyard at Fattoria del Colle, vinified and aged in the estate winery. Its appellation, Doc Orcia, extends over the high hills between the territories of the Chianti, Brunello di Montalcino and Vino Nobile di Montepulciano wines. An area consequently suited for red wines made with Sangiovese. This wine contains Sangiovese and Merlot grapes resulting in a typically Tuscan elegance and silky softness.

The Leone Rosso Doc Orcia wine is a very versatile wine that can accompany the entire meal, and thanks to its characteristics, it’s a wine much appreciated for its drinkability by wine lovers and by the wine critics.

The total production of this vine for the 2020 vintage is of 14.000 bottles.
