Vintage 2021

The 2021 harvest could be appealed as “puzzle harvest”, the vineyards have been divided into small areas based on the degree of maturation of the grapes. The harvest calendar has been built according to the maturation of each portion, ensuring that the small fermentation vats in the cellar were full every evening.

This method ensure a higher respect of the fruit, which is always picked at the moment when the grapes reach the perfect ripeness, increasing  the quality of the wines.

Fattoria del Colle has always produced Chianti until, in 1997, the new superior typology was born and Donatella Cinelli Colombini decided to focus on it by selecting grapes from the best vineyards and producing a wine capable of recounting the Tuscan tradition. He had a new label designed with the three glasses symbolizing the municipality of Trequanda where the Fattoria del Colle is located. A label in bold colours, which evokes the banners of medieval tournaments. It is located in southern Tuscany, 404 meters above the sea. The soil is of Neo-Quaternary age with marine sands and clays. The vineyards were planted on the top of the hills in a ventilated position well exposed to the sun.

The total production of this wine in the 2021 vintage is about 16.600 bottles.
